FCSB defender Siyabonga Ngezana has come under scrutiny following a costly mistake in his side’s recent league clash against Rapid Bucuresti on Sunday.
Ngezana, who has formed a reliable central defensive partnership with Romanian defender Mihai Popescu, played the full 90 minutes. However, the Kaizer Chiefs academy graduate faltered late in the game, contributing to a dramatic turnaround.

The Red and Blues appeared to have secured all three points at the National Arena, leading 2-0 as the match approached the 80th minute.
However, Rapid mounted a fierce comeback, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to salvage a 2-2 draw and a crucial point at home.
One of Rapid's goals came directly from an error by the former Amakhosi center-back. Ngezana attempted to dribble out from the back, but was dispossessed, allowing Elvir Koljic to score in stoppage time.

After the match, a Romanian football legend, now a sports pundit for Digi Sport, criticised Ngezana for his lapse in concentration, calling the mistake unacceptable at this level of competition.
"I was impressed by how FCSB moved at halftime, Brligea brought a plus, Cisotti brought calm, and Alhassan closed well with Lixandru," Dumitrescu said per Digi Sport.
"It seemed that FCSB was dominating, but the moment came when Costel Galca took a risk. He took a big risk. FCSB completely controlled the game, had two more scoring opportunities. By the time the players had assimilated the change in system, it could have ended badly for Rapid.
"Even at the end, Galca took a risk, with Jambor replacing Baroan. A mistake occurs. Here, but, Ngezana, you are not allowed to dribble in overtime.
"That was a gift to Rapid. Rapid never equalized again. Never! From there it changed. FCSB could have lost, Kramer had it in his head. Popescu and Ngezana played perfectly for 80 minutes," he added.

"Costel Galca took a huge risk. FCSB, in terms of game, was superior, but this insistence, that they had nothing left to lose, made this system bring them a huge point.
"But, sometimes you can't interpret a phase like that in the 90th minute or so. Then, he can't even commit a foul, because he slipped, he fell."
