Siyabonga Nkosi reveals 'worrying' trend at Chiefs

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker and football analyst Siyabonga Nkosi has pinpointed where he believes things are going wrong for Amakhosi this season.

The Soweto giants suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City on Sunday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. It was Amakhosi's eighth match of the season and the Nasreddine Nabi-led side is yet to keep a single clean sheet.

Reviewing the match, Nkosi argued that the central defence pairing of Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel - Nabi's preferred centre-back partnership, left much to be desired.

"We did speak about that, players winning their individual battles inside the box and they didn't do that. They lost all those battles and it's worrying." Nkosi said via SuperSport TV.

"Especially the two centre-backs, this time Miguel and Dortley; I think there is a lot of room for improvement that needs to be done in that centre of the defence.

"Because If you look at that game, it was just one blow in the first half and one blow in the second half and it could have been handled better.

"When you find yourself chasing the game, you rely on the last line of defence; they make the right decisions in reorganising and tactical adjustments to make sure you just focus on nullifying the threat and not worry about positioning."
