Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams believes their Club World Cup mission goes above mere participation as suggested by some.
Sundowns have arrived in USA amongst the lowest-ranked clubs at the tournament, which has Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, Flamengo, Palmeiras, River Plate, and Fluminense sitting on the top table.
The Brazilians have Fluminense, Borussia Dortmund, and Ulsan HD in their group.
"We have to be ourselves and stick to our identity," states Williams.

"We don’t want to go there, change things and start playing in a different way because of the strength of the opposition.
"We want to play our football and believe we have enough to get out of the group.
"And I think for us to get out of the group will be massive and a positive.
"We believe we can get out of the group and will show who Mamelodi Sundowns is," he says, while taking appreciation of the opportunity.
"At Mamelodi Sundowns, there is always another opportunity, and it is no bigger than this.
"This is massive and probably the biggest club competition, so we are excited and looking forward to it.
"In a perfect world, we would have wanted to lift the Champions League trophy and head to the World Cup as continental champions.
"Now we need to dig deep after the hardest defeat of my career because of how much we worked to get there.
"We have to dig deep again because no one is going to do it for us.

"We have to do it ourselves while others are on holidays and that is how amazing it is to be part of Sundowns, where we are always looking to then next competition.
"As tough as it is, we love it and enjoy it," says the Sundowns first-choice keeper.
