European return for SA teenage star ‘Kaka’

Cape Town City teenage talent Luphumlo ‘Kaka’ Sifumba will have another attempt at European football despite enduring a challenging stay in Portugal last season.

Sifumba was out at Portuguese Second Division club Vizela, but it turned out sour for him as he never got any minutes in the first team.

The 19-year-old had been on loan for the season.

After arriving in September last year, there were plans for him to play in January, but it never worked out and he has since returned home.

Vizela finished third and missed out on promotion back to the Liga Portugal in the promotion/relegation play-offs after losing out to AFS over two legs.

This website has now gathered that there are plans to move him to Latvian club Riga FC.

Sifumba has been one of the bright talents to emerge at Cape Town City’s DStv Diski Challenge.

Last year, his move to Polish club Radomiak Radom fell through at the 11th hour.
