CT City loses out on new manager to Ten Hag

It is now reported that a Dutch coach has opted against joining Cape Town City in the upcoming campaign and will take up a new role in Germany alongside Erik ten Hag.

Dutch manager Andries Ulderink will reportedly become one of Erik ten Hag's assistant coaches.

Ulderink had initially been expected to join Cape Town City on a permanent basis in the coming weeks, pending the outcome of the ongoing promotion/relegation play-offs.

The tactician was even spotted at the club's training ground in recent weeks, following his departure from Belgian side Royal Antwerp, where he had served as interim manager.

However, according to the British outlet Daily Record, Ulderink has accepted a position as Ten Hag's assistant coach at Bayer Leverkusen.

Ten Hag was recently confirmed as Xabi Alonso's replacement at Leverkusen, after Alonso became the head coach of Real Madrid.

Although Ulderink previously served as head coach of Ajax Cape Town, he has primarily worked as an assistant manager at various clubs, including Reading FC, FC Twente, and most recently Rangers in Scotland.

His recent stint at Antwerp lasted just 13 games, during which he registered two wins, four draws, and seven defeats.
