Lukaku linked with shock Premier League move

Belgium and AS Roma star Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a surprise move in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old striker is currently on loan at Serie A side AS Roma, where he has registered ten goals in 16 appearances across all competitions for Jose Mourinho's side.

Lukaku is unlikely to feature for Chelsea next season as he is reportedly not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans, but he could still end up playing the English top-flight.

According to Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant, Belgium's all-time leading scorer has become a potential target for big-money Newcastle United for next season.

The Magpies only have Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson on their books in the striking department, but the club and coach Eddie Howe could look to bolster that department.

The report, however, does add that the former Manchester United striker does have second thoughts about returning England once his loan deal in Rome expires.

Lukaku was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League before the start of the season, but he was reportedly in talks with AC Milan, which forced Inter Milan to drop their interest in the striker.
