With speculation surrounding Kaizer Chiefs' intention to target Pyramids FC predator Fiston Mayele, KickOff has the lowdown on the probability of the deal with next season in sight.
With the 2024/25 season reaching its business end, rumours on player movements have started to dominate conversations, especially with Chiefs expected to bolster their squad in the off-season.

Mayele resurfaced on the radar of South Africans after he inspired Pyramids to a 3-2 aggregate win over Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League semi-finals, crucially netting a brace in the second leg, where the Egyptian side won 3-2 in Cairo.
The Congolese marksman was initially linked with Amakhosi last season, but after scoring 16 goals, eight of them in the Champions League in the current campaign, reports have again linked him with the side.
However, according to a reliable source close to Pyramids, Mayele is beyond the reach of Amakhosi financially.
"No, he's on about a million dollars a year net, 19 million rands, nearly 20 million rands, and there's 45% tax, Chiefs will have to pay him (approximately) R30 million per season (on salaries alone)," a transfer expert plying his trade in Egypt told KickOff.com.
"And transfer fees? Probably R20 million, so R50 million for one year, it's pipe dreams. They'll never afford Mayele. Do your maths, he's on a million dollar a year, why would he come to South Africa? No chance," maintained the insider.

Lucrative contracts in the PSL, particularly at big clubs, range from around R6 million per season.
The DRC international will once again be on full display to Mzansi supporters, as his club will lock horns with Mamelodi Sundowns for Champions League honours over two legs from next weekend.
