Let's take a closer look...

With Mamelodi Sundowns progressing to the Quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League and Marumo Gallants doing the same in the CAF Confederation Cup, the two clubs have earned themselves millions in prize money.

Both clubs finished top of their groups and will earn a combined sum of $1 million (Approx. R18 million), with Masandawana walking away with approximately R12.5 million, while Gallants get R6.49 million.

SAFA will get 5% those earnings which stands at R927 000 altogether. Here's how the readers reacted to the "Sundowns, Gallants already guaranteed almost R20 million in CAF earnings and counting" story:

"Even if they don't make it in the quarters, to me they have achieved a lot, as some football reporters would want us to believe. Even SAFA is benefitting, imagine getting 50k USD for doing nothing," says mafamadiaaron, who added:

"Some clubs previously avoided making lots of money relying too much on sponsorship, look now even smaller-nyana teams are earning. Big up to the Marumo Gallants owner, nice return on investment if they avoid relegation."

"In short, Sundowns is contributing financially to South African football, the less said about others the better," says Shikabala.

"Hehehe Motsepe is wasting money, whereas SAFA is benefiting from the Mighty Downs. Progress in CAF things, people are talking too much yet they know nothing. From today hence forth, concentrate on your club and see how you can win a trophy," says ngwamamoshate.70.

Read: Gqosha: Chiefs hierarchy are divided

Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Lifa Gqosha insists that the Amakhosi hierarchy is divided and its contributing to the team's inconsistency on the pitch.

Gqosha stated that the management needs to sit down and get onto the same page about what they want to achieve.

He even went as far as saying that Chiefs' management were divided over the hiring of head coach Arthur Zwane.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Gqosha: Chiefs hierarchy are divided" story:

"I have been saying Chiefs; training of the individual player seems to be lacking, hence they are technically poor. Sundowns focusses a lot on individual weaknesses to be improved. They keep notes of their progress and this came with Pitso.

"I suggested that Zwane does this because we can see that the players are not too poor but should be at a higher level of technical application. Broos left them out because of this obvious weakness.

"Failing to cross the ball well tells us that this is not done at training as a specific training routine. I do not agree about management not supporting the coach," says khothakhosi.

"This ex player is talking for the sake of talking. I don't believe him. Chiefs know what they want," says sizwe.gqogqo.

"Lifa is just everywhere on his analysis. You just don't know if the issue is about players lacking confidence or because they are just simple. Nowhere in the world can you expect people to agree on everything, even in management.

"When the decision is taken about the coach, they really are behind him and give him all the necessary support. I have never heard mixed messages from the management.

"Sundowns had been doing well when Pitso was not seeing eye-to-eye with Trott and Alex. Players knew they had to listen to Pitso as their coach," says siyaz.

"Great Point Lifa, it's not like Sundowns' players are miles ahead of PSL players, the games are still very much competitive, the difference is the home environment, completely different from the rest of the other clubs. Sundowns has regular coaches, just ordinary coaches with no clear pedigree," says mthunzijack7.
