Gqosha: Chiefs hierarchy are divided

Club legend and former captain Lifa Gqosha insists Kaizer Chiefs' hierarchy are divided and contributing to the Soweto giant's inconsistent performances.

Chiefs sit fourth in the DStv Premiership standings two points behind SuperSport United in a three-way battle alongside Orlando Pirates for a CAF Champions League spot.

"When you are in a building phase you need to collect points," Gqosha tells KickOff.

"You can't separate everyone, but I think the management needs to sit down and talk about what is it that they want to achieve.

"Nowadays, you have to understand that you don't just pay players good money and hope for better results.

"The way things are happening right now you can see the management are not talking in one voice.

"They are those who are too nice to the players. That's because within the management they are divided.

"There are those who wanted Arthur [Zwane] appointed and there are those who were against Arthur's appointment.

"So, the supporters don't know these details. Football has evolved, and you cannot expect a simple player to play like a skillful player.

"The kind of personnel that you have in your team determines the type of football you should play.

"Mamelodi Sundowns are not doing well because they are better than the other teams, but it's because of the confidence that is in their players.

"You know for a team to win matches convincingly the management needs to work in harmony and players need to play with confidence, to not be afraid to try new things on the pitch."
