Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold will attempt to exploit the 'weaknesses' of Cristiano Ronaldo

Alexander-Arnold, 19, has enjoyed a meteoric rise since graduating from the club's academy last season under the tutelage of manager Jurgen Klopp.

A tireless full-back with the technical ability to feature in more central roles has endeared himself to the Reds faithful after featuring 32 times in the first-team.

Showing incredible maturity and form in the Premier League and during the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League on route to Kiev has earned him a spot in England's FIFA World Cup squad.

However, the teenager understands he will face the biggest challenge of his career this weekend against five-time Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently leads the scoring charts in the competition with 15 goals.

"I would say it's my biggest challenge," he told Dario AS. "He is one of the best in the history of football, he has achieved incredible things but he also has weaknesses like everyone.

"We will try to exploit them and avoid what he does best: score goals."
