And after announcing this week that he still maintains the desire to prolong his professional career, the 96-time capped Dutchman has attracted interest from his homeland in the Eredivisie.
"It would be the ultimate dream if he were to join us and retire from football here," Groningen CEO Hans Nijland told Dagblad Noorden. "We should at least dream of it."
PSV have also confirmed they are interested in Robben, who joined them from Groningen in 2002 before leaving for Chelsea two years later.
