In the 2022/23 season, the Englishman enjoyed a career-best goalscoring campaign for the Red Devils, finding the back of the net 30 times in all competitions as he finished as United's scorer by some distance.

The 25-year-old's fantastic form came after the club appointed Erik ten Hag as their latest manager, andollowing his relatively successful spell at Ajax Amsterdam, the Dutch tactician helped Rashford and his teammates to a third-place finish in the top division.

The Three Lions star, who was the target of serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain for more than a year before he signed his new deal at the Theatre of Dreams, has now revealed that prior to Ten Hag's arrival at Old Trafford, he considered leaving his boyhood club.

"Before the manager came, maybe a little bit. But it's football, it happens," the dynamic forward answered when asked if he had thought of an exit from United, as per the Daily Mail.

"Everything is going to happen for a reason and he (Ten Hag) came to the club at the right time for me. The timing worked out.

"Now the conversation is a little bit different because I think it's clear, the manager is very ambitious and he has been since the minute he stepped in. I didn't really have doubt in my mind about that.

"I'm hungry to keep improving, and the squad and the players and the staff keep improving and getting used to each other, pushing ourselves to be better than we were the year before.
