Man Utd 'identify' new target after Chelsea rejection

After having a third bid reportedly rejected for Mason Mount, Manchester United have now seemingly identified another Premier League midfielder to sign.

Widespread reports in England claim that the Red Devils put in a third bid of £55million for the Blues midfielder on Friday, but that was swiftly rejected.

Mount is reportedly keen on a move to Old Trafford and has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, but Chelsea are demanding a £60million fee.

The England international has one year remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, so there is a chance that Chelsea lose the midfielder for free next season.

However, it seems United are not set to continue with another bid and have now turned their attention to Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Brighton midfielder is reportedly high on the club's wishlist although Mount was seemingly coach Erik Teng Hag's first choice midfield target this summer.

The news about Caicedo does come about as a surprise, with Brighton reportedly valuing the midfielder at around £80million, which is more than what Chelsea want for Mount.

United are not the only side reportedly interested in Caicedo, with Chelsea also as they are set to lose Mateo Kovavic to Premier League champions in the coming days.
