André Villas-Boas has offered to resign from Olympique de Marseille over a bizarre deadline day decision as the chaos at the Ligue 1 club shows no signs of slowing down.
Villas-Boas announced in a press conference on Tuesday of his decision to tender his resignation over the signing of Olivier Ntcham from Celtic on Monday.
The former Chelsea head coach was due to leave at the end of the season due to instability within the French giants hierarchy that boiled over as fans vandalised the club's training ground last week.
"I submitted my resignation saying that I did not agree with the sporting policy," he said, before denying his decision was based on the violent protests. "I don't want anything from OM. I don't want money."
"I'm waiting for an answer, it could be no and then we would continue. I don't want any money, I just want to leave. We ended the transfer window with a new player [Olivier Ntcham]. He is a player that I had said 'no' for."
The Portuguese tactician led OM back to the UEFA Champions League last season but find themselves languishing in ninth place in the 2020/21 campaign.
