Los Blancos are reportedly sweating over club captain Ramos' future as he nears the final six months of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, while Modric and winger Lucas Vazquez are also approaching the end of their respective deals.
Spanish publication Marca reports that there is an expectation that Ramos will extend his stay with the club until at least the end of next season due to his good form and importance within the squad, although conflicting reports suggest that he may consider a move abroad after attracting interest from the Premier League.
Modric and Vazquez's respective futures in Madrid are also in doubt despite both players impressing for manager Zinedine Zidane in recent weeks, with it being suggested that Los Blancos may allow the duo to leave in order to alleviate the club's inflated wage bill.
In respect of the former, it is claimed that the reigning LaLiga champions will delay offering him a new deal until there is more clarity on the club's post-COVID-19 financial position, although there is a reluctance to open negotiations as the player will be almost 36 years old when his current contract expires.
Vazquez, who is the youngest of the trio at 29 years of age, is seemingly closer to a new deal after showing himself able to deputise as a makeshift fullback for Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola. The Castilla academy product ordinarily operates on the wing but is believed to have proved his worth to Zidane as a squad player, which could land him a new contract.
