Following a severe injury sustained during an English Premier League game, a Nottingham Forest and Nigeria star is said to have been brought out of an induced coma.
Taiwo Awoniyi was reportedly taken to hospital after colliding with a goalpost during Forest's 2-2 draw in a league clash against Leicester City on Sunday.

According to reports, the bulky forward had run into the goalpost in the 88th minute, and after receiving care several times on the field, he was able to complete the game.
However, after being sent to the hospital, it was discovered that he had a significant abdominal injury that required immediate surgery before he could be placed into a coma to limit his mobility.

According to the BBC Sport, the 27-year-old had sustained a ruptured intestine in the incident which saw him in an induced coma before subsequently woken up on Wednesday.
Awoniyi has played 32 matches in all competitions for Forest this season, with only two goals. The Super Eagles player has made 26 appearances in the EPL, scoring only one goal during a season plagued by injuries.
