FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been immortalised by the Barcelona Wax Museum with a personalised wax statue.
The museum recently underwent a €6 million (R110 million) renovation ahead of its reopening on Friday, and now offers a new and unique experience with more than 120 wax statues, according to El Periodico.

Among the new features is a lifelike wax figure of Barcelona captain and superstar Messi, designed by Toni Cruz, which promises to be one of the museum's most popular attractions.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner takes his place on display alongside a host of famous figures from fields ranging as wide as music and cinema to cooking and historical personalities, with a host of sportsmen and sportswomen in between.
This is not the first time Messi has been immortalised in the form of a wax figurine, with the 33-year-old having previously been the inspiration behind a model for the famed Madame Tussauds museum.
