FC Barcelona extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in LaLiga after defeating Getafe 1-0 at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening.
Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele, Gavi and Pedri were amongst the key players that were brought back to the line-up by the Catalans following the 5-0 win over AD Cueta in the Copa del Rey in midweek.
In a lighting start, Barca looked to have gone ahead four minutes in with a first-time finish from close-range by Borja Mayoral off good work by Enes Umal but it didn't stand and disallowed for offside.
Not too much penetrative entries around the defensive-third of either side followed well ahead of the half-hour mark, as the match remained tight and openings reduced to a premium.
Barcelona didn't stay silent for long and were ahead ten minutes to halftime when Pedri connected with a low cross from the left by Raphinha and tapped in from close-range.
Though, the lead was under threat minutes later as Pedri gave away possession in a dangerous area and saw Mayoral go clean through, but Marc-Andre Ter Stegen made himself big and blocked.
A double substitution were made by Barca at halftime and saw Eric Garcia come on for Andreas Christensen before Jordi Alba replaced Alejandro Balde.
Barcelona were close to grab a second minutes later after a first-time shot from Dembele following a loose ball on the near side of the area rolled into the side-netting.
The visitors didn't lose hope and on a couple of occasions pushed the Catalans to their own half and the foot-work of Portu, Mayoral and Carles Alena bother the defence.
Barca should've though made it two when Franck Kessie cut an opening in the area and drilled a low shot towards the bottom-corner, but David Soria parried.
Getafe got a few openings to snatch a point in the closing seconds, but were unable to get the better of Ter Stegen as the home side held on for the win and cemented top spot for another week.
