'If he wasn't playing in Europe, I'd take him to Chiefs'

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande says there's a certain Zimbabwean talent he would bring to Naturena if he wasn't currently playing in Europe.

Zimbabwe continues to produce emerging football talents making their mark in European leagues.

Among them is 18-year-old Prosper Padera, who currently plays for Finnish top-flight club SJK Seinajoki.

Padera joined SJK in January 2025 and has already made 10 appearances for the club.

Katsande, known for his leadership and midfield prowess during his time at Kaizer Chiefs, has been following Padera's progress closely.

He believes that had Padera not been based in Europe, he would have recommended him to Chiefs management.

"Padera has impressed me and it is clear that our future is very bright. If he wasn’t playing in Europe, I would have taken him straight to Motaung’s office,” said Katsande, according to Herald Online.

"It’s unfortunate that some people might struggle to see his intelligence and, maybe, it is because he is far ahead of the players who are surrounding him.

"He needs to play alongside players with an elite mindset, players who are not scared to make tough decisions with the ball.

"He is one player whom I really wish to see in the squad that will travel to the AFCON finals in December.

"We need to invest all we have in this boy because he is one for the future."
