Flamengo and Esperance are set to open their campaigns against each other on Tuesday, June 17, in a high-stakes encounter that could set the tone for both teams in the group stage.
With the match fast approaching, Boto has reportedly expressed admiration for Esperance, acknowledging the quality and discipline of the African heavyweights.
"We will face a very tough team, and African football relies on high-level tactics. We will enjoy every match," Boto said, as quoted by WinWin.
"I'm sure you haven't watched a single minute of their matches. They are a team that plays tough football."
According to the report, Flamengo has also taken a proactive approach to analysing their upcoming opponents.
The club has reportedly provided a platform for analysts to present in-depth insights into Esperance’s tactics and strengths.
"The match against the Tunisian club is very important and fundamental, we will be facing the Tunisian champions twice in a row, and they have a style of play that relies on controlling the ball and dictating the pace, especially in the local league, which they dominate," said the analysts Flamengo's official YouTube channel.
"However, they are not accustomed to facing stronger teams or to retreating and defending, which may cause them difficulties against Flamengo, who are also accustomed to possession and dictating the pace of the match.

"it is important for Flamengo to maintain possession of the ball and impose their style to confuse the Tunisian team and force them out of their comfort zone. Esperance rarely participates in matches where they are faced with difficulties, with the exception of a few CAF Champions League matches.
"The Tunisian team is led by Brazilian players: Rodrigo Rodrigues, who plays as a central striker, and Yan Sas, who is the team's most prominent star."
