Bayern Munich ran riot in their FIFA Club World Cup opener with a 10-0 thrashing against Auckland City on Sunday evening.
Bayern broke the deadlock in the sixth minute when Kingsley Coman headed into the top-corner from a delivery across the face of the area by Jonathan Tah.
Frenchman Sacha Boey added another four minutes later before Olise and then Coman increased to their cushion in the opening-quarter, making it 4-0.
Vincent Kompany’s men didn’t stop as Thomas Muller worked space in the area to finish from close-range before Olise produced a sublime curling effort to increase the lead to 6-0 at the break.
The one-way traffic continued in the second half when Jamal Musiala curled into the bottom-corner from the edge of the box, while he completed his brace a little later with a finish from the penalty spot.
Musiala completed his hat-trick in the final seven minutes as he pounced on a stray pass from the Auckland City goalkeeper and finished with ease.
Auckland were put out of their misery in the last minute of regulation time when Muller popped up at the back-post to head in and complete his brace, as the German giants made a solid start to the tournament.
Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 Atletico Madrid
Paris Saint-Germain made a winning start in their Club World Cup campaign in Group B following a 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid at the Rose Bowl Arena.
The UEFA Champions League holdrs hit the front around the 20th minute when Fabian Ruiz latched onto a loose ball outside the area and fired in the bottom-corner.
PSG strengthened their grip on the encounter on the brink of halftime when midfield ace Vitinha found acres of the space in the box and calmly picked out the bottom-corner.
However, their advantage were reduced minutes in the second half through Alvarez, but it didn’t stand after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotted a foul in the build-up by Koke.
The LaLiga side suffered more frustrations inside the last ten minutes when defender Clement Lenglet saw red following a second bookable offence.
PSG added a third goal minutes to the end when substitute Senny Mayulu pounced on a corner-kick into the area and finished smartly.
The victory was confirmed in the dying minutes as Lee Kang-in stepped up from the penalty spot to get the better of Jan Oblak, seeing PSG off to the perfect start in the Club World Cup.
