However, reports in Spain claim the parties are no closer to reaching an agreement over an extension in the recent months of negotiations.
According to Diario Sport, Vinicius wants to earn more than Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, which would see him become the club's highest earner.
The 24-year-old has also been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in the last couple years, with a number of clubs willing to meet his financial demands.
Vinicius reportedly earns around €15million per year, which is the same as Mbappe and Bellingham but the report adds that €20millon per year is expected to be the final offer.
The ball is firmly in Vinicius' court but the club are reportedly likely to demand an answer before the start of the next season as they want avoid having to wait until the final year of his contract for a decision to be made.
