A total of six clubs in the world hold squads valued over €1 billion, with Manchester United and Chelsea rising within the top 10, according to a recent study from the CIES Football Observatory.
The CIES research team ranks club's from Europe's top-five leagues with a unique algorithm measuring the transfer market value of players under contract.

An analysis of the 20 players per club is calculated, creating an aggregated valuation of each squad recorded and unsurprisingly is dominated by the Premier League.
Current league leaders Liverpool, who's title chances have come under the microscope this week due to the COVID-19 pandemic leads the charts with a staggering squad value of €1.4 billion.

This sees Jurgen Klopp's side outrank the star-studded squads of current league champions Manchester City (€1.36 billion) and LaLiga champions FC Barcelona (€1.17 billion).
One of the biggest risers in the list has been Chelsea, who have profited from their transfer ban under the leadership of manager Frank Lampard, who's developed a new exciting youthful squad in London.

According to the statistics, the Blues squad, who holds an average age of 25 this season, is valued at €1.008bn - ranked ahead of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The rest of the top 10 is comprised of Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and Serie A champions Juventus.
