SHOCK: Liverpool suffer first loss at Anfield

Manchester City 2-1 Brentford

Manchester City continued their perfect start to the season in the Premier League as a brace from Erling Haaland secured a 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday.

In-form striker Erling Haaland, who have had to deal with a family bereavement was deemed fit enough to start despite it all as Kyle Walker, Ilkay Gundogan and Savinho set out some of City's changes.

The Bees needed just a minute to hit the ground running when Yoanne Wissa towered in-behind a floated delivery to the back-post of the area and headed in easily.

Haaland, though, came good for the Cityzens a couple of minutes later after shoving off a few challenges to get in space and fired in the net.

More was to come from the Norwegian scoring ace who bagged a brace in quick succession when he showed supreme level of composure to get in-behind to lob Mark Flekken.

Liverpool 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the season and under new manager Arne Slot in a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

With no goals scored in the first half, it remained pretty tight all-round where chances on various ends of the spectrum hung on forth but no decisiveness in the final third materialised.

One-time Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi fired in the winner in the last 20 minutes after managing to cut inside of Ibrahima Konate to finish in the bottom-corner.

Crystal Palace 2-2 Leicester City

Leicester City dropped two crucial points and stayed winless following an entertaining 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Veteran Jamie Vardy had the visitors off to the perfect start when he picked up a layoff from Oliver Ndidi and fired in from the tightest of angles.

Leicester enjoyed complete control and extended the lead in the second half after Stephy Mavididi received a delivery in the channels from Ndidi and slotted in.

The Eagles hit back immediately through a stern first-time finish from Jean-Philippe Mateta after the host went to sleep in defence.

Right on the stroke of fulltime, the host evened it up when Mateta stood up to the penalty spot following a uncertain defending and tucked in to leave the spoils shared.

Fulham 1-1 West Ham United

Fulham were denied maximum points and their second win of the season after West Ham United claimed a late 1-1 draw.

Former Wolves striker Raul Jimenez got the ball rolling midway inside the second period where he combined with Emile Smith Rowe's clever assist and finished with ease.

As the Cottages had victory in plain sight, the Hammers stole a point in added time after substitute Danny Ings leaped onto a throw-in and fired through a rasping Bernd Leno.

Brighton Hove Albion 0-0 Ipswich

Brighton Hove Albion weren't able to return to winning ways as Ipswich Town secured a crucial goalless draw at the Amex Stadium.

It was a tight affair from start to finish, but no team were starved off chances though before the respective men on the park preferred to settle for a point apiece.
