Ribeiro's future after CWC: Desire, treatment, happiness, returning home

With Lucas Ribeiro Costa’s name topical again after his great showing at the Club World Cup, the Brazilian has spoken out about his happiness, desire, and prospect of returning to play at home.

Ribeiro has delivered 60 goals/assists in 88 appearances at Sundowns in two years and with what he has done in the USA, his name has become of interest back home.

Home is where he only played in the youth ranks of Sampaio Correa, Moto Club, and Pinheiros, before moving to France, Belgium, and then South Africa.

The question about his future has caught the headlines.

"Actually, I'm not thinking about that [future] now," says Ribeiro in a Portuguese interview published by Brazilian news outlets Netfla and MundoBola.

"I'm very happy at my club.

"The club opened its doors to me.

"And they treat me very well, the players, the people who live there.

"So, I'm not thinking about that.

"I think you have to let things happen naturally.

"Everyone knows my desire to return to my country, to be close to my family... but, as I said, I'm very happy at Sundowns.

"Regardless of which club I go to or don't go to or whether I stay at Sundowns, I don't know.

"It will all depend on my club.

"But I'm very happy to be at Sundowns.

"Let’s let things happen naturally," said Ribeiro.
