Pep to help Man City find his replacement

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made a surprising claim amid reports the club are looking for his replacement.

The Spaniard's contract with the Citizens expires in 2025, but there has been no indication he will sign a new deal.

While there are caches linked with the Man City job, Guardiola has revealed he would help find his successor if the club ask.

"Of course, with the relationship I have, if they ask me I will give my opinion but it is not my job," the City manager said, as per Independent.

"The decision will be taken by them, not by me. It belongs to the club.
"I would give my opinion as a friend, having shared unbelievable moments together, but it has to be the club.

"I would say the new sporting director, the moment I'm not here any more, has to choose."

Meanwhile, City goalkeeper Ederson claims the club might already have a replacement lined up.

"City is a very well-structured club, well-managed, it has great directors, great CEO, a great coach," Éderson told TNT Sports Brazil.
"I believe the club already has the next manager in mind ... the day Pep decides to leave, they will try to follow the same line of work.
"Of course it would a great loss, I have no doubt about that because you are talking about the best coach in the world. I see a club very well prepared for post-Guardiola [era]."
