Chelsea to break British transfer record again?

Chelsea could reportedly break the British transfer record after being linked with a Premier League striker.

The Blues broke the British transfer record in the last transfer window when splashed a reported  £115million on midfielder Moises Caicedo.

However, the London outfit could look to raid Brighton once again as talkSPORT claim that Evan Ferguson is on the club's striker targets for next season.

The Blues have a good relationship with the Seagulls, having previously bought Caicedo and Marc Cucurella while they also brought in manager Graham Potter last season, but that did not end well.

Ferguson penned a new deal with Brighton last year and he is believed to be more than the £115million Chelsea paid for Caicedo.

The other strikers on Chelsea's striker list include Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Brentford's Ivan Toney.

Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino was asked about Ferguson after the side's 1-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.

"No. I'm not going to talk about rumours as I'm so respectful. We are not talking," Pochettino said, as per Goal.

"We are assessing the squad and if something happens we will communicate."

The report does that add that Ferguson is no rush to leave the AMEX Stadium as he looks to continue his development under coach Roberto De Zerbi.
