Tau & 10 African stars lighting up Vietnam's V.League

With South African players Percy Tau and Njabulo Blom recently making moves to Vietnam, here is a closer look at the growing number of African footballers plying their trade in the V.League.
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Blom signed with V.League 1 giants Thep Xanh Nam Dinh after parting ways with Amakhosi. Weeks later, ex-Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly star Percy Tau, now 31, joined Blom at Nam Dinh on a free transfer following his departure from Qatar SC.
The South African duo will not be the only African players in the Asian country, but will also link up with their African brothers, who were already doing their job in Vietnam’s top flight.
Nigeria is well represented, with Ugochukwu Oduenyi and Origbaajo Ismaila playing for Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, while Fred Friday and Michael Olaha feature for Hai Phong and Song Lam Nghe An, respectively.
Cameroonian forward Joel Tagueu is at Hai Phong, while his countryman Alain Eyenga plays for PVF-CAND. More so, Senegalese defender Mamadou Mbodj dazzles at Dong A Thanh Hoa, meanwhile, Ugandan striker Joseph Mpande plays for PVF-CAND.
