Ramovic makes 'weakness' admission amid tough start at Yanga

Amid a tough start to life in Tanzania, Sead Ramovic has made an admission about the weaknesses he has identified since being appointed.

Young Africans SC are currently looking to bounce back as they face Mashujaa FC in a crucial Tanzanian Premier League encounter at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam on Thursday.

The defending champions have endured a challenging period under their new head coach, who has struggled to make an immediate impact since replacing Miguel Gamondi last month.

In his first four matches at the helm, Yanga have managed just one win, suffering two defeats and a draw. The team currently sits fourth on the league table, six points adrift of leaders Azam FC, though they have four games in hand to close the gap.

Of those four encounters, two have been in the CAF Champions League, with the side first suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sudanese club Al Hilal before being held to a 1-1 draw by TP Mazembe on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of his team's upcoming domestic clash, Ramovic admitted to identifying weaknesses within the squad but remained optimistic about turning things around.

"We believe we must step out of our comfort zone," he said per Daily News. "We have worked hard to address the weaknesses we identified during our recent CAF Champions League matches.

"We respect Mashujaa as a strong team that plays with skill and determination, so we are thoroughly prepared to face them with focus and intensity. Being seen as favourites doesn't mean we underestimate our opponents.

"We have been preparing the players to execute the strategies we've focused on during training, and I believe it will be a competitive match."
