Pyramids to prioritise Downs clash over league title?

This encounter comes just days before their decisive Champions League second-leg clash with the Brazilians, with the first leg having ended 1-1 in South Africa.

With the Egyptian football authorities having rejected a request to postpone this match, head coach Krunoslav Jurcic is reportedly weighing a rotation strategy to preserve some of his key players.

According to Egyptian publication Number1.news, Jurcic is contemplating the possibility of resting some of his key players to avoid injuries ahead of the Masandawana match.

Players such as Fiston Mayele, Walid El Karti, and Blati Toure, are some of the players Jurcic has been relying on this season, which means he would want them to play both games.

Although a win in the league could potentially secure the title, the situation is not fully in Pyramids' control considering that if Al Ahly win or draw over Pharco, they will be the champions.

This seems to be influencing Jurcic's likely decision to prioritize continental glory, especially given the prestige and significance of the CAF Champions League.
