With former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena heavily linked to the Zamalek vacant managerial job, there has been an update regarding this potential move.
Weeks after Mokwena officially ended his relationship with Wydad Athletic Club, the coach has been consistently tipped to join the Egyptian giants.
According to reports from Egypt, the White Knight have officially approached the 38-year-old coach with an offer, as some believe he has what it takes to lead the team after Jose Peseiro's dismissal.

Now, according to Egyptian Journalist Amir Hisham, as quoted by Algomhor.com, there are different views amongst Zamalek board members regarding the hiring of the South African tactician.
The report has indicated that the chairman of Zamalek's board of directors, Hussein Labib, expressed reservations about bringing Mokwena on board.
Hisham has revealed that Zamalek have had talks with Mokwena, with certain members of the board believing in the coach's abilities, while others are not convinced.
"Zamalek negotiated with Mokwena, and some within the club are convinced that the coach is a ‘good project’ for the team, including a prominent member of the planning committee, however, some believe that the coach failed with Wydad Casablanca, and Zamalek is not a ‘test bed’," Hisham said per Awanmasr.com.
"Mokwena succeeded with Sundowns, but he failed with Wydad Casablanca, and things are divided at Zamalek, because 'there is more than one captain in a boat,' as they say, and there is a conflict at work, with each official going in a different direction.

"What I've learned is that Mokwena is firmly in the picture, regardless of whether the contract with him is ultimately completed or not. Zamalek is certainly considering the matter strongly, despite the significant divisions. There are still names being considered, including Pitso Mosimane," he added.
"Another coach may be hired at the end of the season. Jose Gomez is also on the radar, but it is unlikely he will return. Brazilian Rogerio Micale is also among the candidates."
