A number of high profile coaches are said to be in the race for the managerial vacancy at Egyptian giants Zamalek with Pitso Mosimane and Rulani Mokwena reportedly among the leading candidates.
The White Knight have been looking for a new coach since letting go of Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro after failing to live up to expectations.
Peseiro spent only three months at the Egyptian Premier League powerhouse, where he joined the team in February of this year. It is now reported that Zamalek are on the verge of announcing his successor.

Mosimane, a former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has long been touted as Peseiro's replacement and is now said to be the hot favourite to lead the team ahead of the upcoming season.
The former Al Ahly boos has been a free agent after leaving Persian Gulf Pro League side Esteghlal FC in January this year.
Meanwhile, reports emerged this week claiming that Mokwena, also a former Downs gaffer, has received an offer from Zamalek, as they see him suitable to lead the team.
The 38-year-old tactician bid an emotional farewell to Wydad Athletic Club this week after the two parties confirmed their amicable separation in a joint statement.
Mosimane and Mokwena are reportedly vying for the Zamalek job with a well-traveled Brazilian manager Rogerio Micale, who has been without a job since December 2024.
According to Koraplus.com, Micale, who strives to play attractive and attacking football, is the leading candidate for the Zamalek coaching hot seat.
On the other hand, Koraplus has indicated that French coach Patrice Beaumelle is also tipped to become the head Zamalek coach, having made his name in African football.
The 47-year-old trainer won the 2023/24 Algerian Premier League title with MC Algiers and coached Ivory Coast as well as worked as assistant manager for the Morocco national team.

Zamalek's management is expected to make a final decision soon, with all candidates offering different tactical strengths and levels of experience in African and international football.
