Mamelodi Sundowns have added Andile Jali to their CAF Champions League squad

Jali left for Togo with his Sundowns teammates from OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday night, but Percy Tau was a noticeable absentee. Tau is in negotiations to secure a move to Brighton Hove Albion in the English Premier League.

Jali is not new to the Champions League, having been to the final in 2013 with Orlando Pirates. The Buccaneers lost out to the tournament’s most successful side Al Ahly.

Sundowns, however, are still working on registering foreign players Toni Silva and Jose Ali Meza.

“Yes, he is available, we have registered him. When it’s a local player it’s easier than Ali Meza and Toni Silva. You have to wait for the work permit. Even sometimes the league can start without getting a work permit. That’s the life when you sign foreigners,” Mosimane tells snl24.com/kickoff.

“He [Jali] is an important player. He has adjusted well. I like to see that his aggression is still there. The passing is there, [but] he is still adjusting to the way we play because we like football that’s easy on the eye. We’ve got to get him to the way we play. But he’ll get there, he’s an experienced player.”
