Eymael had attracted interest from Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United and unknown teams from overseas at the end of 2017/18.
But the Belgian looks set to stay in Bethlehem for at least another season, with Chiefs having recently appointed ex-Stars mentor Giovanni Solinas to the Amakhosi hotseat.
"Some journalist and people were saying in the media that I was arrogant when I said if nothing [comes] before June 12, I will come back to Free State Stars," Eymael said.
"People were saying I was giving an ultimatum to teams. It was absolutely not that, it was just keeping my word because I promised to Rantsi Mokoena [Stars general manager]... We had a discussion. He knew which team was in contact with my agent and I promised him that I don't want to let him down.
"If something happens it must be before June 12. Some people didn't understand that and people were insulting me in the media but you see I came back to Free State Stars.
"That's the most important thing. I had offers from abroad."
