Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi begins life as a coach

Dikgacoi will focus on coaching now, after a successful playing career which saw him competing in England for Fulham and Crystal Palace and in Wales for Cardiff City, who play in the English Championship.

''Yes, Kagisho Dikgacoi is here and he was with us this afternoon [Wednesday],'' a source tells snl24.com/kickoff

'KG' returned to the PSL in 2016 to sign a short-term deal with his former club Golden Arrows, but he was troubled by his weight, making only 10 appearances for the side before he was let go at the end of the season.

Dikgacoi, who earned 54 caps for Bafana Bafana and scored two goals in the process, played in two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, in 2008 and again in 2013 when South Africa were hosts.

He was also part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup squad and was the player who set up Siphiwe Tshabalala for the memorable opening goal of the tournament against Mexico at FNB Stadium.

It’s now time for him to make a mark as a coach, just as he did as a player. The players at Eagles will no doubt learn a lot from Dikgacoi, who can tell them about the importance of working hard to make it, especially to those who want to play abroad.
