In the latest edition of My Locker Room Secrets, KickOff catches up with Moroka Swallows legend Andries "Chaka Chaka" Mpondo.
Mpondo who never played for any professional team except the Dube Birds, reveals what used to take place in the club's dressing room during his time there.
Who was always late?
"Because we all used the team bus to get to training, there weren't any latecomers those days, to be honest."

Any interesting rituals before they played?
"Yes, Calvin Petersen. We ended up giving him the nickname "Sosobala". He always carried a toiletry bag to every game.
"He'd go to a secluded place like the dressing rooms showers, and he would do his thing there.
"The whole team would encourage him to do his best as we believed in his muti.
"Because he is colored I believe he got all his muti experience during his time at Bush Bucks."
Who was the jokester?
"Master Motloung, that guy would leave you in his stitches. Owen Da Gama was also one of the jokers at Swallows."
Was it a muti-change room?
"We did use muti but preferred singing as a form of motivation. We would sing until a match referee came and knocked on our door to inform us it was time for kick-off. We loved singing at Swallows. The spirit was high."
Who was the singer?
"Joel 'Ace' Mnini and Motloung were great singers. How can I forget Sipho Sikhonde and Marcus Mphafudi."
Who was the best dressed and the worst dressed?
"Andries Chitja was the best dressed. Clothes made him look like a gentleman. He loved smart casual.
"The worst dressed have to be Thomas 'Who's fooling who' Hlongwane. The man had no style. The rest of us were always in our Brentwoodds trousers."
Who never showered?
"Nobody. At Swallows, you were never allowed to leave without taking a shower. That was the first thing you'd be reminded of after joining the team."

"Mario Tuani and Terror Sephoa. Tuani worked on a player's mentality while he was a good motivator. And Sephoa allowed me to be myself."
