Pirates lieutenant pained by Chiefs defeat: I have no words...

An Orlando Pirates defensive stalwart has opened up on the heartbreak of being on the losing side of the Soweto Derby Nedbank Cup final to Kaizer Chiefs, who ended a 10-year trophy drought.

Bucs found themselves on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline as it was those clad in Gold and Black colours who celebrated when the final whistle sounded at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Jose Riveiro's men bravely rallied back to equalise via Evidence Makgopa after the setback of conceding a penalty goal early on.

However, they will be disappointed with the manner in which they let in the winner for Amakhosi, as hero Yusuf Maart and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo were left unmarked in the box as Ashley Du Preez put in a cross.

That all this was hot on the heels of a cruel CAF Champions League exit to Pyramids FC in the semi-finals will surely leave a bitter taste in the mouth.

With Riveiro's flight to Cairo already revving its engine as he departs soon after the match against Golden Arrows on Tuesday, and the league realistically out of reach, the season has come crashing down for Ezimnyama Ngenkani.

Speaking to the club's media after the Soweto Derby, Sibisi was at a loss for words.

"A very difficult one, you know," admitted 'Bhodlela', as he is affectionately known.

"I have no words to explain how we feel right now, but we have to take it, we still have more games to play in the league.

"So, yeah, that's all we have to do - we have to move on. It's really nice to play here one more time. I don't know... the turnout was awesome, but you know, we are unfortunate we didn't get the result, you know. As I said, we have to take it and move on," added the no-nonsense defender.

A win, therefore, becomes a non-negotiable in Riveiro's swansong at Orlando Stadium (19:30).
