Chiefs star: I will wear the medal for ten years

A Kaizer Chiefs star has humorously stated that he will wear his Nedbank Cup medal and the match shirt for no less than ten years following their victory over Orlando Pirates.

The Story

Kaizer Chiefs emerged with a 2-1 win against their long-standing rivals Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final held at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Chiefs players Gaston Sirino and captain Yusuf Maart found the back of the net for the Glamour Boys, while Evidence Makgopa scored for the Buccaneers.

This victory marked the end of Amakhosi's ten-year wait for a trophy, breaking their dry spell and quieting the critics of coach Nasreddine Nabi, who has been facing difficulties securing positive results in the league.

After receiving the trophy, Chiefs academy graduate Zitha Kwinina took a playful swipe at Amakhosi haters, joking that he intends to wear his medal for some time just to annoy them.

"Do you know ten years? It has been a long time (people saying they know what is ten years), Kwinika jokingly said.

"I am a champion, I won't leave them (people), they must feel it, I will wear the medal the whole week.
