DONE DEAL: Okon lands new club abroad

Bundesliga 2 outfit Hannover 96 have confirmed the signing of defender Ime Okon following his departure from SuperSport United.

The 21-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with the German side after his contract with SuperSport expired on 30 June.

"I'm delighted to be signing with Hannover 96. I'm very excited about this challenge of playing in Germany," Okon told the club's official website.

"I'm really looking forward to the club, wanting to become a better player and mature as a person.

"I would describe myself as a fast, robust defender—I'll try to contribute these strengths from now on and help the team."
