Westerlo scout issues hands-off warning for in-form Lyle Foster

Foster is enjoying a purple patch in front of goal in the Belgian second division where, after a difficult start the campaign, he has hit form with three goals and two assists in his last five appearances for league-leaders Westerlo.

Niel Cuijvers, who is the club's head scout, is unsurprised by Foster's form in recent weeks after following his young career through France, Portugal and an ill-fated loan spell at Cercle Brugge two seasons ago.

Foster's recent form has helped Westerlo open a 10-point gap over nearest rivals Waasland-Beveren in the league standings and it comes as little surprise that the former Orlando Pirates star is attracting interest from elsewhere.

His current employers appear unlikely to entertain any offers, however, with the club looking to the 21-year-old to help them secure promotion to the top-flight for the first time since being relegated in 2017.
