JUST IN: Downs confirms five more exits

On the back of two exits announced over the weekend, Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed a further five more departures from the Betway Premiership champions.

The Brazilians confirmed via their social media platforms that Sifiso Ngobeni, Sanele Tshabalala, Thabang Sibanyoni, Lucas Suarez and Sifiso Mbule have left the club.

Notably, Mbule has already been unveiled as an Orlando Pirates player ahead of the 25/26 season, while head coach Miguel Cardoso had also long revealed that Suarez would not continue with the club beyond his loan spell.

The exits of Sibanyoni and Ngobeni also come as little surprise. The duo had spent the season out on loan, with Sibanyona at Magesi, and Ngobeni at AmaZulu.

Meanwhile, Tshabalala has stayed under the radar and struggled to nail down a role since moving to Sundowns from Moroka Swallows in 2023.

Meanwhile, the announcements of the five players come just days after Sundowns let go of midfielder Rivaldo Coetzee and Lebohang Moboe.

The CAF Champions League finalists are also expected to get their transfer business underway this week, having returned from the FIFA Club World Cup.

Sundowns' pre-season is rumoured to be scheduled for 21 July and be held locally, unlike the previous season, where the club has travelled abroad for their pre-season preparations.
