The reigning world champions are set to play host to South Africa in Lille on Tuesday in what will be the first meeting between the two nations since the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Ahead of the encounter, Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps revealed that he will be rotating his squad and confirmed that AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan would start ahead of regular shot-stopper, Hugo Lloris.
"Yes, I can confirm that," Deschamps said when asked by the media if Maignan would start. "You never know, but yes, he will be in the starting line-up tomorrow.
"He was always there as the third-choice goalkeeper. He was always called but not part of the team. He is constantly evolving and really performed at Lille and is doing the same with Milan, which is a good thing.
"I had said before that this is an opportunity for me to see as many players as I can and goalkeepers are part of the team. Mike is a quiet guy but he is really a powerful presence.
