Earlier this week, Broos inspired South Africa to back-to-back 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier wins over Ethiopia to keep the national team's hopes of taking part in football's showpiece tournament in Qatar next year alive.

The Belgian tactician has guided Bafana to the top of the Group G standings after winning three and drawing one of his opening four games, only dropping points during last month's goalless draw away to Zimbabwe.
That run of form is the best by any South Africa national team coach in their opening four matches since the turn of the century and sees Broos trump each of his immediate 11 permanently appointed predecessors during this period in terms of points-per-game.
The 69-year-old is one of only two managers who have gone unbeaten within this time frame of matches after Shakes Mashaba did so in his second spell in charge, although the latter drew two of his opening four fixtures at the helm.
Meanwhile, Stuart Baxter is the only other coach to have won three of his opening four matches with Bafana Bafana, albeit with an accompanied defeat, after the current Kaizer Chiefs boss did so in each of his two spells in the role,
