Bafana's failure to qualify for the 24-team 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon has brought about plenty of criticism of SAFA's failed 'Vision 2022' and appointment of Molefi Ntseki.
Ntseki took charge of the senior team in 2019 following the resignation of Stuart Baxter with minimal experience as a top-level first team coach after spending a few years in the SAFA development ranks.
Khan, who also knows his way around development coaching after grooming many incredible talents over the years, has now pointed towards Muhsin Ertugral – who has also been head coach of Orlando Pirates – to lead the South African men's senior national team.
Ertugral has extensive experience in the PSL and Turkey and is currently the technical assistant for the Turkish national team in the lead up to the 2020 EURO Championships.
His work with Chiefs over two separate stints is arguably his best, as he led the club to multiple domestic successes while also giving rise to several stars including Jabu Mahlangu.
