For the first time since South African fans were prohibited from attending live sporting events in March last year, supporters will return to a stadium when Bafana Bafana face Ethiopia at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.
The South African Football Association (SAFA) had previously announced that the venue could be opened to fully vaccinated fans and confirmation has since been received that 2000 individuals will be allowed entry for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Tickets for the limited number of spots to watch the highly-anticipated fixture will be available to be applied for on Monday afternoon through an online application process that will be launched on a new website
"The Cogta Ministry has approved that a limited number of spectators will be allowed back into the stadium. The website to apply for tickets will go live this afternoon."
SAFA Chief Medical Officer Dr Thulani Ngwenya confirmed that the soccer body hoped to increase the number of fans for the next Bafana Bafana fixture.
