Rantie had started training with Celtic at the end of February following his release from Mamelodi Sundowns, where he had signed a contract but failed to make his competitive debut.
After previously being given a similar opportunity by Cape Town City in 2018, the former Bafana Bafana talisman is hoping to land yet another shot at resurrecting his career with the Free State-based outfit.
However, Maduka has confirmed that there will be no return for the 29-year-old in their remaining games of the current season, though he is still being earmarked for 2020/21.
"He is still with the team and he is working hard‚" Maduka said during a Zoom media conference ahead of their Nedbank Cup semi-final clash with Baroka FC this weekend.
"We hope he will continue doing that and we will make a final decision [ahead of] the coming season. We are not going to sign him for the remaining games of this season but he is training well.
"Unfortunately because of the lockdown, we had to release all the players and that affected Tokelo. He had just joined us when the country went into lockdown but he has been doing very well at training since we returned [last month]."
Meanwhile, despite their precarious financial situation, Phunya Sele Sele will report to the Gauteng bio-bubble with a full squad of over 30 players, after several youngsters were also promoted from their reserve team.
"We are going to the bubble with enough players, and thanks has to go out to the management, who tried their best to ensure we have a big squad because games will be close to each other," he added.
"We are taking more than 30 players and that is enough to complete the season. There are couple of [MDC graduate] that have been training with us, because we know that games will come quick and we won't have enough time to train."
