After Mesut Ozil selected the no.67 shirt at Fenerbahce - here are some of the strangest squad numbers in football which includes the late John 'Shoes' Moshoeu.

It's since been revealed the sentimental decision behind '67' is due to the postal code of his hometown Zonguldak starting with those two digits.

A few more radical cases include Netherlands legend Edgar Davids who famously donned the no.1 jersey during the latter stage of his career at Barnet - suggesting he wanted to start a new 'trend'.

On the local scene, there were several examples too. 'Shoes' once donned 91 with Kaizer Chiefs claiming the two digits equalled the no.10 jersey he so often wore over his illustrious career.

Meanwhile, the late Lesley Manyathela was one of the few footballers who was known for a three-digit squad number which can be seen in the gallery above.
