From being in the books of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at the helm of his career, Thamsanqa Sangweni has spoken out about his current situation.
Sangweni is back home without a club following his departure from Chippa United where he played 14 games after joining in February straight after arriving from Eswatini club Mbabane Highlanders.
"I wish I knew why I am back in this situation yet again," Sangweni tells snl24.com/kickoff in reference to his latest club-less status.
The 32-year-old has thrice been without a club since leaving Pirates in 2018 after having been with Sundowns as well in previous years.
"I might have made mistakes as a human being along the way but then all this comes with growing up and realising that this is not right," he notes before detailing the end of his latest stay at Chippa.
"At Chippa we sat down and spoke about my contract and when pre-season started, they called me back but then talks didn't go well over a contract. The next thing I heard was that the club has a lot of people with contracts in the position that I play so I had to leave."
He added: "If you had to put yourself in my situation right now, then you would realise how much this hurts me because it makes my name not seem well with other teams. This is not good for me but hopefully, I will find a club where I can stay for a long time because that is what I need now.
"I can't even understand why this is happening to me because whenever I play, I do give my best. Look at my input at Chippa this past season, I played most of the games after joining the team along the way, so it is not like I am a player who doesn't contribute when I am with a team.
"I push and give my all the time. The thought of leaving football hasn't crossed my mind a bit and I am sure I will get another team. I am grateful to Chippa for the opportunity that they gave and have no hard feelings," says Sangweni, who is younger brother to retired defender Siyabonga.
