After training with Chiefs for several weeks, former Bidvest Wits defender Sifiso Hlanti has relocated across Soweto to join Swallows instead.
The 30-year-old, who was a free agent after obtaining his clearance from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila following their takeover of Wits, had been training in Naturena in the hope of the club's ban being overturned.
However, CAS last week announced that Amakhosi's appeal had been unsuccessful and that they would remain banned from registering any players for the next two consecutive transfer periods.
There was some hope that the Soweto giants could hold out and register Hlanti, as well as two other reported targets Phathutshedzo Nange and Brandon Petersen, in March next year due to the free agent clause within FIFA's rules.
But clarification was issued on Monday, confirming that they can only start registering new players from July 2021 at the earliest.
Dube Birds chairman David Mogashoa has since welcomed the Bafana Bafana left-back to their stable, with details surrounding the length of the deal not yet clear.
