The 21-year-old, who hails from Ashdown township in Pietermaritzburg, won the accolade for January. He beat off competition from Orlando Pirates winger Luvuyo Memela, Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso and Bidvest Wits skipper Thulani Hlatshwayo.
Ndlovu is in his second full season at Maritzburg, and has featured in 19 of 21 league matches this term, weighing in with three goals – including one in Friday night’s win over AmaZulu - and a handful of assists.
"It's an honour to be named Player of the Month," Ndlovu is quoted as saying by his club.
"When they called me I felt shocked and surprised, because it's my first time and I didn't expect it to happen so soon. It's like when you have coffee, it tastes much nicer and sweeter with sugar!
"I must also give credit to my team-mates, it's not all about me. They are always pushing me. The senior players help me, so I believe the credit should go to them."
Orlando Pirates boss Milutin Sredojevic was named Coach of the Month for January, while Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda won the Goal of the Month prize for December.
The judging panel for the accolades consisted of Velile Mbuli, Kwena Moabelo, Stanton Fredericks and Fabian McCarthy.
